The challenge
The location sees four to six hour outages during the monsoon, and the client wanted to retire a 15 kVA diesel generator.
What we did
We sized a 10 kWh LFP battery bank to carry the full house load - including the borewell pump - for a complete evening outage, and wired the generator out of the circuit.
Project notes
This is the case where hybrid genuinely earns its cost premium. The client was spending close to Rs 9,000 a month on diesel alone during monsoon months, on top of the electricity bill.
The system covers the regular bill through net metering and the battery covers the outages, which removed the diesel expense entirely.
